COVER- Survival in a polluted environment 1971

The Museum Haus Lange,Krerfeld used to be a villa, in the time before it was transferred to a experimental museum. It was built by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1928. The exhibition COVER at Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld, was a critical view into a possible polluted future. On the occasion of the exhibition the museum was covered by an air suported skin of white, reinforced PVC. In this way an introverted synthetic reservation, independent from the outside, was created, which produced an interesting contrast between the translucent skin and the bricks of the house. On the other hand the lost connection to the surounding environment was an impression, filled with anxiety. In connection to the topic of the exhibition, several conceptional drawings about climate controlled spaces became generated.
